Scents

• Design scents for each room that night
• What is a scent:
  • Memory anchor
• What to avoid:
  • Last time we did a ‘scent booth’—scents are worth exploring, but we want to curate the experience a bit more closely. It’s not just about the scent, it’s about what it represents. So have pairings with the scents if you’re doing a scent booth.
• SCENTS ARE CRITICAL AS A MEMORY ANCHOR. Every time they smell that smell, they’re going to be transported back to this party. What portkey do we want to do
• Biotech floor can synthesize scents for us!

• Need to figure out: scent booth (boring, easy) or novel scent dispersal?
  • Novel dispersal
    • A) disperse throughout room at relevant moments, use great ventilation to cycle out the scent. Look into logistics and practicality. might require too much.
    • B) provide zones where people receive the smell. A smell zone. Limited. One interpretation is like… they put on a fishbowl helmet and have the smell pumped in or something. not sure whats smart here.
• Fine mist nebulizer that nebulizes terpenes (would be $100+/L of terps tho)
  • Scent builds slowly over the night. Subtle but MEMORABLE. not kitsch or tacky. the naturalness of the scents gives them a pass, the distinctiveness of the scents creates a memory anchor
